Day 3

Woke up and it was raining pretty bad. Went into the hostel kitchen and saw Belfast on the Canadian news, really sad/angry to see.

Went to Tim Hortens for breakfast and hit up the dollar store for some umbrellas. Needed to get out of the rain so did a tour of a little brewery near the hostel. Met this awesome couple called Tim & Veronica and chatted for ages. Veronica works in the ice hockey hall of fame so got us in for free and gave us the grand tour. Got some photos beside some big cup everybody was crazy about.

Went out with those guys after and they took us to a place called the loose moose. Watched some MLS and had a burger which was chicken sandwiched between two Belgian waffles, INCREDIBLE. Got some ice cream and a cup of tea at Fran's diner too. Tim & Veronica, you guys are total legends!!!

Went to pick up Vicky, our friend from home who is working at Muskoka too. We thought she was dead but her flight was just delayed big time. By the time we found her it was late and her hostel was closed, so it called for a secret sneak mission into ours.

Stopped at McDonald's on the way and I got talking to some homeless natives who were good fun. Then the rain came down like a flood and after 10mins we were trapped inside because a lake formed right outside the door!

Watched some guy stand in the rain trying to convince his girlfriend to walk home. She was having none of it and kept us amused for ages. Got chatting to some people beside us and they were great, everyone is very friendly once you roll out the Irish charm.

Waited for the lake to clear and then smuggled Vicky into the hostel no probs. All totally wrecked by this stage, much sleep needed!

  1. mmmm, Tim Hortons.... proper Tim Hortons too, none of this BP garage rubbish...

You need to get yourself to a White Spot restaurant for a milkshake... actually the best milkshakes I have ever tasted!
