Okay so camp has finished and I am now on the road. I have fallen a little behind in my blogging, but hopefully I will get caught up this week.
The last week of camp was crazy. Just crazy.
Because the camp is non-profit, they have to blow all their money on the last week of camp, which is called Classic. It is just for senior-high age (14-17) and is a lot of fun; they do things BIG. Some highlights were a Willy Wonka carnival with a real chocolate river, an American football tournament with commentators, dry ice and fireworks, a woodland ball and a crazy camp-wide game of Jumanji. Not a whole lot of sleep that week.
I haven't really processed it all yet, camp was an experience for sure. I met some great people and we definitely had some hilarious adventures I won't forget.

Last sports show with the bros
I really enjoyed teaching radio broadcasting but doing it every day for the whole summer was defintely a challenge. I did get to try something different for a couple of weeks when one girl got hurt and we switched. I had to look after a group of little kids (6-7) all day and take them round all the activities. I got to go with them Canoeing, Tubing, Skateboarding, Climbing and do Arts & Crafts. The little kids were a lot of fun, but they needed looking after, lots of piggy backs and crying and running around after them.
They definitely taught me a lot of stuff about life. Just why all the kids were the way they were, who their parents were and how they were brought up. Why some kids got picked on and why others didn't. Why some kids were adventurous and why some were homesick. When they are that young, things are pretty obvious and the kids don't really hide much. Raising a kid must be hard work, it is just so much responsibility. Looking forward to it some day though.
Further adventure awaits now, the U.S.A. is in my sights!
